Early Interventionists work in the home, via telehealth, or community child care centers, with families or caretakers, whose children qualify for Early Intervention services through the Department of Education funded program, Tennessee Early Intervention System.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Drives personal vehicle to home visits as assigned, and as needed by the program to satisfy coverage of any children needing services, as requested by supervisor.
Reads and reviews Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for child and family, observes child and family, listens to family, and supports family by actively engaging in brainstorming, problem solving, and modeling strategies which may include bending, crawling, reaching, kneeling, sitting, standing and walking.
Enters information into the Tennessee Early Intervention Data System, using a computer, and within required time frames.
Schedules home visits with families over the phone, and keeps a consistent schedule.
Attends, and actively participates in trainings, and other professional development opportunities.
Monitors child and family progress on the IFSP, and updates child assessment.
Understands and implements the principles of Early Intervention, knows and is capable of sharing information about the Rights of Infants and Toddlers under Part C of IDEA.
Follows Corporate Compliance Policy., completes paperwork, and utilizes PHS.
Ensures confidentiality regarding sensitive material including applicant’s, employee’s, and individual’s right to privacy and protected health information, following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Practices and ensures use of universal precautions.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Carry a caseload and provide direct service to a minimum of 16-20 FTE families at all times.
Work with families on strategies they can use in the home, or in childcare centers with child care staff, using Family Guided Routines Based Intervention (FGRBI) model of support, recommended practices from the Division of Early Childhood, and other evidence based practices.
Ability to understand and use principles related to Adult Learning.
Assess children using the required assessment, and submit reports to Service Coordinators at designated times (initial, six month, and annually), as required.
Input information from assessments into an on-line assessment system, and generate reports.
Ability to work in a variety of home, and child care situations, and to demonstrate respect and cultural sensitivity to families. Demonstrates flexibility as appropriate in order to help families obtain information and support their child.
Comply with all requirements in the Tennessee Early Intervention Operations Manual, including timely entry of service notes, maintaining a minimum of 75% attendance rate per month, and starting services with families within 30 calendar days.
Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm during a crisis.
Knowledge and understanding of Company and Department of Education Operations Manual.
Ability to use excel and word documents and other computer programs as needed.
EDUCATIONAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications for an Early Interventionist includes a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, Early Intervention, or related field, as required by the Department of Education, Tennessee Early Intervention System. Related fields are degrees in deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12 elementary education, communication disorders and speech language pathology.
Hiring preference is given to those with degrees in early childhood education, and work experience with children birth to three and family involvement and engagement experience.
Must obtain an Early Intervention Credential from the state of Tennessee.
REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES
First Aid, CPR, and TB test or screener as required by county.

PSR Specialist
The Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist is responsible for utilizing holistic thinking and a strengths-based approach for the facilitation of weekly groups with individuals dually diagnosed with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and mental health condition. The PSR Specialist will maintain the high-quality, person-centered program in accordance with the mission and vision of Emory Valley Center (EVC). Person-centered thinking should be the framework for decision-making in daily work and service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans with measurable and obtainable goals for skill development to maximize successful community integration and independence in the areas of learning applicable to the rules and program requirements for Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
Monitor and assess functioning and progress in meeting identified goals through observation and consultation with person-supported and Circle of Support (COS).
Ensure timeliness and accurateness of clinical documentation for all documentation requirements for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and/or licensing entities (Medicare, Medicaid, MCOs) including treatment plans, progress notes, progress summaries, etc.
Maintain individual records in compliance with rules and program requirements for Psychosocial Rehabilitation and/or licensing entities (Medicare, Medicaid, MCOs) to ensure service delivery, continuity, and quality assurance.
Develop monthly lesson plans/curriculum including discussion topics, activities, etc. to demonstrate learning and skills practiced during PSR sessions.
Provide education and support to teach emotional, cognitive, educational, vocational, and social skills and assist persons supported as applicable to the rules and program requirements for Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
Promote program expansion through continuous provision and development of curriculum, standards, and procedures under the direction of supervisor.
Participate in internal and external correspondence with all members of the Circle of Support (COS) as appropriate to enhance effective service coordination and communication with stakeholders and/or collaterals.

The RBT will record accurate and complete data on all goal targets as requested, write service notes, and complete tasks assigned by the BCBA in a timely manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Implement treatment and Behavior Support Plans (BSP) based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) as trained under the supervision of a BCBA.

Engage yourself with each person supported utilizing information found in the Person Centered Support Plan (PCSP) as well as the persons own vision for a meaningful life utilizing the implementation plan. Documentation will be completed using the daily notes format.
Assist the person supported to have maximum participation in an integrated community life participating in meaningful relationships, friendships and social networks which could include volunteer opportunities, employment, and hobbies in the community developing a natural support network for the person that increases independence.
Assist the person supported with daily living skills that may take place in the home or in the community that will require a specific plan and strategies for teaching skills of independent living related to personal hygiene, food and meal preparation, home upkeep, money management, community resource, parenting, computer use, and driving evaluation and lessons.
Promote community relationships assisting the person supported to enhance skills that will lead to service fading. Community mapping near the person supported’s neighborhood will be necessary to assist the persons involvement in the area in which they live to support the person to become independent.
Persons supported will receive the support necessary to take informed risks to improve the quality of their lives by researching safety practices and making decisions that make sense in situations.
Administers medication(s) and completes appropriate documentation in accordance with the needs of the person supported over the age of 18 after completion of the Medication Administration for Unlicensed Personnel with the Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD).
